A Dash for All Seasons

This miniature quilt is a fast and fun project to complete is a short time. It highlights strip piecing and grid techniques to produce 3” Churn Dash blocks. Block centers can be fussy cut to expand on a themed quilt. Students learn machine settings, fabric selections and sewing techniques appropriate for miniature quilts.

Oh My Gosh - Tiny Logs

Oh My Gosh” is the reaction most quilters have when they see such small log cabin blocks (1¼”). This miniature Log Cabin quilt is paper pieced. What a great way to use those left over scraps. The scalloped edge in the outer border was added for design interest. It could be optional.

Paper Piecing Techniques

This is not a project class. Come learn techniques that will help you foundation paper piece blocks of any size. Students will learn when to use strips or defined shapes, and how to determine the size fabric piece required to cover a section. A choice of six-inch (6”) sample blocks will be available for paper piecing in class.

Jewel Box Quilt

Jewel Boxes

Jewel Boxes is a detailed pieced quilt. The block, often referred to as ‘The Jewel Box’, is a very easy/beginner type block. The sashing adds a degree of complexity to the design. Students will learn to use the Tri-Rec rulers to make the sashing. This is a great scrappy quilt.

We will discuss the general border options, but the sample quilt’s border treatment is more involved and will require greater details than class time allows. Information is provided to complete the borders by students at a later time.  Pre-cutting is required before class.
