Bonnie received positive feedback about the 2008 Quilt Show. She encouraged the members to begin working on their entries for the 2010 show.  Quilt Show Co-Chair Ilaine Hartman announced the winner of the 2008 Opportunity Quilt, Joanna Wilson from Baton Rouge, LA.  Joanna is a member of the River City Quilters.  Ilaine reported that over 5,000 tickets were sold for the 2007 Opportunity Quilt.  The proceeds from the quilt and quilt show goes to defray expenses for Seminar.  She reported that less than 2,000 tickets were sold for this year’s opportunity quilt.  Ilaine stressed that low ticket sales will make it hard to acquire the “A” list teachers we are used to having.  She added that gasoline, airfares and teachers fees are steadily going up.  With this in mind, Ilaine encouraged ambitious ticket sales for the 2010 Opportunity Quilt.

The top ten-ticket seller’s were announced!  (Ilaine Hartman (66) not claiming), Dan LeBlanc (53), Kornelia Hambley (51), Karen Rudd (43), Laura Robertson (41), Dana D’anzi (40), Pat Lee (40), Lynda Galloway (39), Therese Springer (34) and Laura Broders (30).  Ilaine recognized the Quilting Niche for their generous donation of a quilting chair.  The winner of the chair is Dan Leblanc

Bonnie announced that raffle tickets for the sewing machine, donated by Bernina & Village Fabrics, would continue until the October general meeting.  The machine is valued at nine hundred and ninety-nine dollars.
