Cactus Basket

The baskets in this quilt are filled with cactus made from diamond pieces.  This simple block teaches an easier way to do ‘Y’ seams.  The pieces are stitched on the machine using a scant quarter inch seam.  Blocks are set on point for a cute wall hanging or throw.
Into The Woods

Selected piecing of the strips that make this block form a pattern of tessellating trees.  The trees can be seen right side up and upside down!  Blocks can be made of scraps, or single fabrics for a nice quilt.  Precise cutting and piecing make this one fit together well.
Lakeside Sampler
Each section of this pictorial quilt features a different technique. Detailed instructions are given for each technique along with a chance to try all of them in class. There are 2 types of paper piecing, flying geese stars, log cabin blocks, sliced triangles to form mountains, elongated triangle trees, and on point construction. The result is a lap size quilt when completed.

Rosebuds or Tulips?
Learn to use a Tri-Recs ruler to make elongated triangle leaves to surround these pieced rosebuds. On the other hand, are they tulips? Two sizes of nine patch blocks and floral sashing add charm to this quilt.
String Star
Use all of those odd scraps to stitch an old-fashioned string quilt. Fabrics are pieced on a muslin base, cut into diamonds, and then stitched together to form the star. Outside squares and triangles are pieced, so there are no Y seams.
